Walk Description:
I have organised a private vist to Long Barn Gardens in the village of Weald. You can join this visit after the walk or just come for the garden visit! Friends, partners etc are welcome!
The visit will begin with a short talk about the history of the house and garden. The gardens at Long Barn were created by Vita Sackville West and Harold Nicholson while they lived there between 1915 and 1932. Charles Lindbergh (famous for making the first nonstop flight between New York City and Paris in 1927) lived here between 1936 and 1938. The house and gardens are currently owned and lovingly curated by Lars and Rebecca Lemonius. This promises to be a bit of a treat of a morning! Tea/coffee and home made cake will also be provided.
The cost of this visit is £25pp and I need a minimum of 15 people. I will collect payment seperately once you have booked and no refunds are available after 5 August as I have to confirm numbers and make advance payment. If I don't have sufficient numbers and have to cancel, you will of course receive a full refund.
Location Notes:
Park on Long Barn Road near the village primary school and Windmill pub. Meet in front of the school.
