Walk Description:

Wow!  

This 5.5 mile (8km) walk weaves its way from Langham Airfield to the coast along the Norfolk Coast Path National Trail, through woodland adjacent to a babbling river to the village of Cockthorpe. Standing on a ridge of high land, Cockthorpe offers stunning views all around.

This famous airfield was built during the Second World War and was a base for planes including Beaufighters, Hurricanes, Mosquitoes and Wellingtons.

Looking down towards the coast Blakeney Point can be seen. This shingle ridge or 'spit' is 4.5 miles long and is built up by the action of the sea.

TBH the most incredible views of our gorgeous coastline!!!

We try to aim to upload walks TWO weeks prior to the event on the website.

On average we clock up approx 5 miles at steady Gear 2 pace. 

PLEASE COME EQUIPPED WITH PAWS!!!! A MUST!

Please dress appropriately for the weather, and don’t forget water, waterproofs (if necessary), suncream, bug spray AND ASTHMA INHALER AND CHECK YOUR EMAILS ON THE MORNING OF THE WALK FOR ANY UPDATES

Please try to arrive 10mins early so you are ready to go.  

Cancelling a walk:

If you are unable to attend a walk, PLEASE cancel by 6pm the day before as there will undoubtedly be people eager to take your place.  24 hours notice will help everyone.

Location Notes:

Turn off the A148 between Holt and Fakenham when you see the sign for Langham. Upon entering Langham Village on the Holt Road, continue past the church on your left. Turn right onto Cockthorpe Road and follow it for half a mile. You will see the Dome on your right hand side. If travelling on the A149 (coast road), turn south at Morston following the signs to Langham. On entering Langham, continue forward and turn right at the crossroads by the church.
