Walk Description:
WHY NOT LEARN SOMETHING NEW? GET FIT? FEEL FANTASTIC? EXPLORE NEW PLACES? MEET NEW PEOPLE...
Nordic Walking is a fabulous exercise for people of all ages and abilities. It burns more calories than ordinary walking, uses 90% of your muscles, works the whole body and is sociable too. The poles (very different to trekking poles) enable you to feel well balanced and light on your feet - if you learn how to use them properly. And finally, it is green exercise and we all know how good we feel when we are outdoors - even in the rain! Join us, and WALK OUR WAY....
The course covers the following:
Part One
The fundamentals of Nordic Walking technique. Gaining forward propulsion from the poles by engaging the correct upper body muscles, understanding correct gait and co-ordination.
Part Two
Mastering handgrip and use of the pole straps in order to develop technique. Adapting the body position and pole angles for walking up and down hills.
Part Three
Adding more speed through improved technique, understanding how your body reacts to exercise and learning how to stay within your comfort zone.
Price: £25 - this includes NOT ONLY the practical training session BUT ALSO a POLE WORKSHOP, use of poles AND FREE WALK.
It is a techniques course but you can take regular breaks when you need to.
