Walk Description:
Adventure Walk: Bluebells in Clough Wood, Winster
Meet: 9.45am for 10am start at Winster Play ground car park, Wyston Road Winster http://www.winster.org/pages/wwimages/WinsterParkingMap.pdf
Distance: 3 miles, 1.5 -2 hours
The walk: A circular walk, mainly through woodland. Some of the trails can be muddy in wet weather. We start by walking along the road in direction of Wensley but soon leave this by going through a gate into fields. Going downhill, the path leads us to the edge of Clough Wood and we can already see a display of bluebells. Following the path along a small stream we also see some other early flowers. When we leave the wood we can see some rough ground which are left-over waste heaps from a former lead mine. As we re-enter the wood we are surrounded by bluebells. Leaving the wood again, we follow a path that drops steeply to the stream but then goes uphill, back to Winster.
Total ascent 600ft, 7 step-over stiles, 2 fallen trees to climb over

Coming through the village. Car park is on right hand site, just outside Winster.
