Walk Description:

Starting from Gorcombe Extreme Sports Centre we head out to the hills and dales around this beautiful area.

The walk is around 7 miles and passes a huge solar farm before joining a long track prior to a steep

ascent up to the fallen oak tree.

This section will be familiar to many but the route is reversed. Crossing fields with

beautiful views then down through the woods to the trailway at Spetisbury.

If the weather is dry we can walk a short river section. This passes "The Shack" and toilets. We can

briefly stop here.

Then back on the trailway to Charlton Marshall and another climb up a country lane then into woods.

The path meanders through the country side on small paths before arriving back at Gorcombe cafe

where there are toilets.

This is a welcoming place that can be very busy so it might be helpful to pre order your lunch before we

set off. Please allow time for this if intending to eat a meal. There is also home made cake/coffee etc.

Paws needed and good walking shoes. Please bring water. Route is exposed in places.

Location Notes:

Follow the signs to the Gorcombe Activty Centre and the cafe with the dog picture on it. You will turn onto Park Hill, still follow the signs until you turn onto a lane which you need to follow until you come to the farm and down to the car parking..
