Walk Description:

Our Monday morning walks are a great way to practice your technique and take a gentle approach to improving your technique. Great for those new to nordic walking or those looking for an easier walk level.

Todays walk: A easier morning walk at starting at Fyfield Downs car park. We will do the easier route towards Devils Den and the valley of the stones - enabling most of us to get a great walk that is not too difficult with great views. The route is 3.5 miles.

IF YOU PREFER A LONGER MORE INTENSIVE WALK THEN JOIN THE EARLIER WALK AND DO 7 MILES BY 11:30!

Notes: Park at Gravel Hill car park at the top of Downs Road,Marlborough. Directions below.

Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking – it makes something we can all do… twice as effective! Nordic Walking uses poles to in order to add two major benefits to walking.

The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs The poles help to propel the walker along – this means he/she works harder than usual yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!

Note: To participate in regular Nordic WALX, you must have completed our Power of the Poles course and have been granted a WALX passport.

Location Notes:

The car park (known as Gravel Hill car park on Google Maps) is found by turning right off the A4 on the Marlborough to Calne rd just after the Manton turn off - signposted Manton House and Hollow. Follow road for about a mile. The road turns sharply left and then turns to right. Just before the right hand turn is a BYWAY sign on the left - turn here and the car park is just to right behind the trees Please do not leave valuables in your car at this location.
