Walk Description:
Our walk from Harpenden takes us out across Harpenden Common. We then go through a section of Heartwood Forest into the village of Sandridge where we can take a break. We then return to explore more of Heartwood Forest and complete our round trip back to Harpenden.
Heartwood Forest is a "new" forest being created by joining four pockets of ancient woodland with newly-planted native trees. It is planned to be the largest unbroken native forest in England and is managed by the Woodland Trust. Come and join us to explore this beautiful area where we may catch the end of the bluebell season.
Our longer Explorer WALX are open to all, exploring beautiful areas in and around London. Routes are planned with breaks and the opportunity for refreshments but this isn't just a ramble; we'll encourage the good posture and motivation to push yourself as we do in all our WALX.
If you'd like to benefit from using Nordic walking poles, we advise you attend a Learn to Nordic WALX workshop. Walkers without poles or with trekking poles are very welcome.
Monthly Payment clients £10; Pre-paid Credit clients £16 - price adjusted at payment.
