Walk Description:

A pretty and varied route,  initially following the Itchen river up to Compton Lock, then crossing Hockley Meadows Nature Reserve to Twyford.

Generally flat but some sections of the path along the river require careful footage due to tree roots.  After very wet weather the route may be adjusted slightly to avoid the river path.

 

Location Notes:

There are 3 areas to park in. 1. Along the road by The Bridge Inn, Shawford. 2. In Shawford Down Car Park which is where you will end up if you follow the What3words code (Its on the left, after the train station as you are coming up the hill) 3. In Shawford Train station car park. Meet outside the Bridge Inn.
