Walk Description:

From Fairview Drive we go along the trailway beside Broastone Golf course to Delph Woods.

This is a 24 acre woodland. Under the taller trees are hazel, rowan, holly and Hawthorn.

The rare Bechstein's bat lives here. There is a 200 year old oak tree.

A stream flows through the middle. The word Delph means mining and quarrying and is possibly where

gravel extration took place. The pond is probably a remnant of a gravel pit.

A pretty walk with lovely views of the golf course.

To start we are on the trailway which is very wide and flat then into the woods on smaller trails.

Passing the cricket pitch and circling around woodland we eventually rejoin the trailway.

Briefly steep to get up to the trailway.

There are bridges to cross the streams.

Plenty of parking in a quiet residential road. No toilets, nearest would be in Broadstone/Corfe Mullen.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

A cool walk for Spring and Summertime as the walk is in shade.

Location Notes:

Continue to the far end of Fairview Drive. We will meet by the junction of Fairview Drive and St Andrew's Road. Free parking on residential street
