Walk Description:

We are excited to welcome newcomers to the use of poles to exercise the whole body while walking.

In this 90mins session, your qualified instructor will help you understand your current level of fitness and empower you to use poles at the correct intensity in order to get the results you want. At the end of this session you will have a full understanding of using poles correctly and will be at a level where you will be issued with the NWUK Freedom Passport. allowing you to join our walks and classes along with other WALX and Nordic Walking UK groups around the UK.

We can guide you towards the right walk or class to help you get started and advise you on choosing the right poles for you.

When joining us, we ask you to read and agree to the safety measures below.

ParQ questionnaire. Our new online new health questionnaire asks you to update your current health status. Please complete and tell us about anything that may be relevant to your participation so that we can make any adaptations to the session.

I will happily give you some advice if you'd like to buy poles.

Please ensure you bring a small backpack/water bottle belt , any medication which you may require and a snack if required.

Location Notes:

Meet in the car park which overlooks the main area of the park. Parking Charge dependent on Low / High Season. See Wicksteed Park website for up to date charges. APNR ( number plate recognition ) so don’t forget to visit the payment machine before getting in your car.
