Walk Description:
Make your own way to Watts Gallery (Down Lane, Compton GU3 1DQ) or RV at Roehampton Gate at 08:50hrs to car share (depart Roehampton Gate at 09:00hrs). Please let me know if you need a lift or if you are prepared to offer lifts from Roehampton Gate. Free car park with toilets and café at Watts. There will be a safety and route brief at 10:00hrs. Meet outside the rear entrance to the cafe. The walks will start after the brief and finish at approximately 11:45 and 12:30 hrs. Option to stop for lunch at Watts Gallery after the walk.
Location Notes:
Large free car park with toilets and takeaway cafe. A very pleasant Cafe/Restaurant on the other side of the road. Very close to the picturesque village of Shere. Sat Nav will take you to the Burpham Junction of the A3 and then around the eastern edge of Guildford. However, my preferred route is to come off the A3 at Ripley. Go through Ripley on the B2215. Continue to roundabout (approximately 2 miles). Turn left onto A247 towards West Clandon. After West Clandon continue to major junction with traffic lights. Go straight across joining A25. Newlands Corner is on you right at the top of the hill after approximately 2 miles.
