Walk Description:

A beautiful walk inn a variety of woods and heathland typical of the New Forest.

Partly on wide trails or smaller paths muddy after rain.

Leaving the High Corner Inn we cross over Broomy Plain and enter Holly Hatch inclosure.

Past Holly Hatch Cottage a walk beside the stream then goes up hill towards Fritham Plain.

Into Stoden inclosure before a walk down Ragged Boys hill.

From here into Broomy Inclosure, past Splash bridge, returning through woodland back to the pub.

The walk is 6 miles and will take about 2.5 hours approx to allow plenty of time to enjoy the scenery.

Bring snacks/water/sunscreen/hat as needed.

Please park in the top carpark belonging to the pub. Option to go in for drinks/snacks after walk.

Allow time for driving through the New forest, the animals can be unwilling to move.

(From the Red Shoot Inn go uphill then a short way on the flat before the left hand turn onto the gravel

track, past the High Corner forest parking, then downhill to the car park just above the High Corner Inn)

Phone signal at the pub is patchy. Toilets in the pub.

(Ground nesting birds in season means any dogs are on leads.) Does not apply now.

Location Notes:

Please park in the top carpark at the High Corner inn. Allow plenty of time to cross the forest. The sign off the road to the pub is very small. Follow the road down hill until you see the pub.
