Walk Description:

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.

Stage 2 of Great Stones Way - Barbury Castle to Old Sarum.

Netheravon to Amesbury

This summer we are undertaking some new walks including the whole of the Great Stones Way from Barbury Castle to Old Sarum following an ancient trail through the Pewsey Vale and Salsibury plain taking in the ancient sites at Avebury, Woodhenge and Old Sarum.

Today`s Walk:  We start at Netheravon and continue towards Salsibury and take a detour towards Stonehenge. This route needs to be recce'ed so details may change before the walk date.

This walk is a linear walk and we will arrange some cars to be at the end of the walk for transport back to the start. The walk is open to non-polers. If you would like to try poles please contact me in advance to arrange to borrow some of our strapless activiator poles.

Length and Grade: A 9 mile walk with some ascents and descents.

Location: Start to be confirmed.

Notes: This walk goes through various villages so there may be shops/facilities but bring snacks and drinks anyway.

LIFT DETAILS

If I have not asked you to meet me at end of walk please meet at the start of the walk to walk off by 9:45am. 

We will leave a few cars at end to enable us to share lifts back to the start point. I will contact you seperately if you are coming that way.
