Autumn has definitely started with rain, wind and cooler temperatures, this also brings back the mud. Be prepared for this, it might be slippery during the walk. But we still can have sunny weather, so please carry a small backpack or bum bag and bring some water.
Photos from recent walks: on top of Musden Low, along the river Dane, Power of Poles intro course, on top of flagpole hill, a farm track in Denstone and a helping hand to open the gate.
Date for your diary:
Sunday 7th November: Adventure walk: Limestone Way, Tideswell and Tideswell Dale
Meet at 10.15 for a 10.30am start at Millers Dale car park, Wormhill, Buxton, SK17 8SN
Distance: 7 -7.5 miles, 3.5 – 4 hours
The walk: Footpaths, farm tracks and quiet lanes without pavement. Some areas prone to mud and uneven walking.

The walk starts from Millers Dale, an uphill path takes us to a farm track. After that it still goes up through classic White Peak fields along quiet country lanes, following the Limestone Way and Pennine Bridleway before going downhill to Tideswell. We walk through the pretty Peak District village of Tideswell, with the famous ‘Cathedral of the Peaks’. The route takes us then through beautiful Tideswell Dale and a quiet country lane along the River Wye brings us to the Anglers Rest for lunch.
