Walk Description:

A mixed-terrain walk mainly through arable and pasture fields, through farms, and on quiet lanes with the Quinny Brook never far away (we are crossing it or walking alongside it, or its tributaries, on many occasions during the walk). We also pass through 7 hamlets on the walk in this very quiet corner of South Shropshire below Wenlock Edge, with beautiful views.

Whilst not a hilly walk, the challenge can come from the underfoot conditions, and terrain depending on the state of the fields and recent weather. Be prepared for mud and some boggy areas. There are also a number of stiles, gates and wooden bridges (some with incorporated stiles) on this walk, and a few awkward corners to negotiate. A gears 1 and 2 walk.

Nordic Walx are simply sociable Nordic walks in a mixed ability group, enjoying beautiful locations in and around South Shropshire and beyond. Most routes are circular and will try to make the most of the beautiful countryside around us.

Dress to suit the weather, including sunscreen, if necessary, and bring water.

We are adhering to Covid-19 protocols. Please use your own poles and bring your own water.

Please do not book on for for a walk if you have symptoms or have been in contact with some one who has symptoms. Thank you for your understanding.

Photos may be taken during the walk for use on the WALX in the Marches website, on social media, and occasionally, shared more widely with WALX/Nordic Walking UK. If you are not happy for your image to be used in any of these ways, please let me know.

Location Notes:

Bushmoor is a hamlet off the A49 3.5 miles north of Craven Arms and 4.5 miles south of Church Stretton. Parking at the side of the lane on verges only, preferably just between the lane at the bottom of the hill and the driveway to the poultry farm (see marker on satellite picture or What 3 Words) Meeting point will be here too. No toilets. If you need to borrow poles, please ensure that you request these in advance for this venue.
