Walk Description:
We pass near to Abbotts well a perpetual spring from our starting point at Abbotswell carpark.
Down to Ogdens and across the bridge at Latchmore brook then round to Woodford Bottom.
Onto a wide trail beside Dockens Water, before heading across to open heathland climbing back up and over Ibsley Common then down into woods before the final hill back to Hyde Common.
Option for coffee etc at The Potting Shed cafe afterwards. A short drive back through the village of Frogham.
Food stops being served at 2 45pm. Toilets inside cafe. The food and cakes are delicious. Excellent coffee.
The walk is up to 3 hours and approx 6 miles long. It is a walk on gravel/sandy paths along with wide forest trails. Three short hills. A very open walk which can be breezy and also muddy in places during winter.
Allow plenty of time to drive in the New Forest as there are a lot of ponies and donkeys who take no notice of traffic.
