Thursday Explorer Bluebell Special
This enchanting circular walk for just over two hours begins at Cromford Mills and leads you into a breathtaking woodland where bluebells are at their absolute best, creating a vibrant sea of colour beneath the trees.
The route offers a peaceful and uplifting experience, with glimpses across to the Cromford Canal and the wider valley beyond, capturing the quiet beauty of this special landscape. As you continue, the walk stretches along the upper valley of the River Derwent, combining woodland charm with open views and a real sense of calm.
The return route follows the canal itself, providing an easy, scenic finish along the still waters and historic towpath. If time allows, you may wish to pause at Cromford Wharf for a well-earned cuppa, rounding off a truly delightful spring walk filled with colour, tranquillity and seasonal beauty.
