Walk Description:

The Walk Experience Starting from the free car park beside the Three Locks public house, this 5km fitness walk with optional extensions offers the perfect blend of wellbeing walking, gentle challenge, and sociable fitness. We begin with a 1.3km stretch along the peaceful canal towpath—ideal for settling into your stride, enjoying mindful movement, and connecting with others. This is where friendship and conversation naturally begin, creating a relaxed and inclusive group atmosphere. Turning onto a bridle path, the route gradually rises through open countryside and farm tracks. This gentle incline helps build strength, stamina, and total body fitness, making it ideal for those looking to improve overall fitness and support weight loss goals—all while staying social and connected. A short road section leads us into the stunning Rushmere Country Park, where we follow woodland trails along the Greensands Ridge. Here, the group flows naturally—some enjoying quiet reflection, others sharing conversation—reinforcing the powerful link between movement, mental wellbeing, and social connection. As we pass tranquil fishing lakes and loop back towards the canal, the walk begins to unwind—giving space to reflect, reset, and enjoy the sense of achievement, wellbeing, and camaraderie that comes from moving together outdoors.

Location Notes:

The walk starts and finishes in the 3 Locks Pub Car Park.
