Walk Description:

Our walk runs between the Thames towns of Henley and Marlow.  Leaving the Thames at Hambledon Lock we pass through the unspoilt Chilterns village of Hambledon and then climb up into the Chiltern hills along a section of the Chilterns Way. We return from Marlow. 

Key sights

Our longer Explorer WALX are open to all, exploring beautiful areas in and around London. Routes are planned with breaks and the opportunity for refreshments but this isn't just a ramble; we'll encourage the good posture and motivation to push yourself as we do in all our WALX.

If you'd like to benefit from using Nordic walking poles, we advise you attend a Learn to Nordic WALX workshop. Walkers without poles or with trekking poles are very welcome.

Time: Meet at Henley on Thames Station ready to start at 10.00 am 

Travel

There are regular trains running from London Paddington to Henley on Thames - advised time 9.08 am from Paddington arriving 9.57 am

Return will be from Marlow - branch line to Maidenhead, and then connect with the mainline back into London. 

Refreshments  

Bring a picnic and water/drink.

We can make a pub stop in Hambledon if it is not too busy.
