Walk Description:

Join us for a lovely moderate woodland walk, with peaceful paths, beautiful countryside and plenty of opportunity to chat along the way.

The woodland has a wonderful network of paths, which means we can vary the route and enjoy a slightly different walk each time. Along the way, we’ll occasionally emerge from the trees into open areas with fantastic views across the surrounding countryside.

This is a moderate walk, with some gentle hills and natural woodland terrain underfoot. You don’t need to be super-fit, but you should be comfortable walking at a steady pace and managing a few inclines. As always with WALX Coast and Country, no one gets left behind and our walk leaders will make sure the group stays together.

If you are building your fitness or are unsure whether this walk is right for you, please ask us before booking – we are always happy to help you choose the most suitable walk.

What to expect:

Beautiful woodland – peaceful paths, changing scenery and lovely countryside views. Moderate walking – a few hills to get the heart and lungs working, without being overly strenuous. Friendly company – enjoy walking as part of a welcoming and supportive group. Coffee afterwards – we’ll finish at The White Swan, with the opportunity to stay for a drink and a chat. Free parking – parking is available thanks to The White Swan.

Wear comfortable walking shoes suitable for woodland paths and come prepared for the weather.

A great choice if you want to keep active, enjoy the countryside and meet good company at the same time.

Walking Levels Explained

Easy – Up to 2.5 to 3 mph

Ideal for casual walkers who enjoy conversation along the way. These walks are mostly flat, and any hills will be tackled slowly and gently.

Moderate – 3 to 3.5 mph

A steady pace that may lead to slightly heavier breathing, particularly on inclines. Suitable for those looking for a bit more of a workout.

Challenging – 3.5 to 4 mph

Suited for experienced walkers who enjoy pushing their pace. These walks may include longer durations (2+ hours), steeper inclines/declines, or uneven terrain. Though challenging, there will be moments to catch your breath, usually on flat or downhill sections.

Note: We never leave anyone behind. The walk leader makes sure everyone is looked after.
