WALX Calder Valley

Walk Description:

This walk accesses the Rochdale canal above the car park and heads towards Hawksclough, where we leave the canal to cross the river Calder. There is a steep ascent up to Carr House, a historic, mid-17th century building and then a steady incline up to Wood Top. The trail then descends through a lush tree canopy towards Hebden Bridge station. We join the route 66 cycle track back towards Hawksclough, joining the canal tow path before turning onto Broadbottom Lane to access Redacre Woods back to Mytholmroyd.
