Another of Janneke's specials, this month we go Back in Time:Caldon Canal and Staffordshire Moorlands
Meet at 9.15 for 9.30am start at Hetty’s tea shop, Froghall Wharf, Foxt Road, ST10 2HJ
Distance: 6miles, 3 hours
The walk: Footpaths, farm tracks and quiet lanes without pavement. Some areas prone to mud and uneven walking.Starting from Froghall Wharf we walk along the Caldon Canal for about 2 km.Going up through (probably muddy!) woodland and then using quiet lanes to the villages Ipstones and Foxt, while enjoying the views of the Staffordshire countryside.We return to Froghall Wharf via the old railway track between Cauldon Low and the Caldon Canal.Please bring water & snacks, also waterproofs & layers.Stiles: tbcGradients: Total ascent 247m Lunch: at Hetty’s Tea Shop
