Walk Description:

We will meet at Theobalds Grove Station and take the bus to the start of the walk.  We will finish 5.5 miles further along the New River tracking the water way through a more suburban landscape.  It is a completely flat route on mainly firm paths (bring the paws for your poles) with a few sections on grassy footpaths.  We finish a short distance from Enfield Chase Station with the option of pubs or a cafe for some refreshments.

Key sights

Our longer Explorer WALX are open to all, exploring beautiful areas in and around London. Routes are planned with breaks and the opportunity for refreshments but this isn't just a ramble; we'll encourage the good posture and motivation to push yourself as we do in all our WALX.

If you'd like to benefit from using Nordic walking poles, we advise you attend a Learn to Nordic WALX workshop. Walkers without poles or with trekking poles are very welcome.

Travel

There are regular trains running from London Liverpool Street to Theobalds Grove (Weaver Line); however the easier option is to pick up the train at Seven Sisters (Victoria Line) 9.58 am which arrives at 10.20 am.

Return from Enfield Chase (Overground) back to Moorgate via Finsbury Park.  

Or by BUS via Oakwood (Piccadilly Line) to High Barnet (Northern Line).

All travel is covered by Senior Oyster/Freedom Pass.

Refreshments

We will have water/drink breaks but no cafes along the route.  There are several options for drinks/snack at the end of the walk in Enfield.
