Isle of Wight Annual Walk 2023

A great day out on the IOW!  We were lucky enough to have the perfect weather – warm but not too hot and a brilliant breeze!  We started our adventure at Lymington and had a late breakfast on the ferry over to Yarmouth.  The walk took us along the old railway to Freshwater Bay – some lovely views alongside the river.  After a quick coffee stop we ploughed ahead and upwards to the Tennyson Monument, on to the Needles (finding a sheltered dip to have our picnic lunch) and then down again to Alum Bay.  We then joined the coastal path on the most beautiful route up hill, across the warren, down to the coast line, along the beach and eventually back to Yarmouth!  13 miles in all and even time for a quick drink in the pub!
