That’s how long it is since we went into lockdown as the Covid pandemic ravaged the world.
On the 18th of March 2020, we ran our last group walk and prepared for a very different kind of life.
It was a life that would throw us into isolation as we locked our doors, anxiety as we feared for our friends and family, grief when those who were dear to us sadly passed away, financial hardship as we lost income and work, empathy as we watched those who cared for the sick, and bewilderment as we tried to explain to our children what was happening in the world.
I don’t think anyone escaped unaffected from Covid and the stringent guidance under which we tried to live.
However, without detracting from the desperate situation many of us were in, we CAN also look back at that time and focus on the many positives which we witnessed and experienced.
It was a life way outside of our COMFORT ZONE but we saw our Nordic Walking community coming together and helping those less fortunate, the kindness of strangers. We embraced new ways of working and stayed connected through technology. We discovered how much there was to see and do on our doorsteps. We walked alone but very much together. We walked faster than we ever have but also slowed down to heal.
When we are FORCED to step outside of our COMFORT ZONE, we can show resilience, strength, determination, and optimism.
You have proved you can overcome adversity.
So, when you CHOOSE to step outside of your COMFORT ZONE remember you’ve got this. You know you can do it.
