The path through Pear Wood in Stanmore is at it’s bluebell best at the moment. This path leads up from the lake and there is a sea of blue on both sides of the path. So beautiful.

What a merry band we were on Wednesday as we set off from Strawberry Hill towards Kew. The path towards Richmond has lots of interesting houses on both banks of the Thames and after a lunch break we continued our way and saw lots of rowing crews out on the river and a fox posing

How lucky were the Thames Path walkers on Wednesday? Blue skies and warm temperatures as we walked 10 miles from Hampton Court to Richmond. Stein’s Café near Richmond Bridge was a lovely stop for some well-earned Bavarian apple strudel and cream. You can still join in. Walk 2 will be from Teddington to Kew Bridge

The Spring lunch at The Hare last Monday was a great success – a fab walk beforehand with some spring flowers and then really good service and food – we strongly recommend the renovated pub and outdoor garden. We will go back!

Saturday Striders enjoyed a celebratory walk before Xmas. Santa hats were compulsory and additional decorative attire was optional! The walk was followed by a car boot cafe with homemade goodies to share. This has become a much look forward to annual event whatever the weather.

19 Harrow Striders were able to enjoy a festive lunch together on December 9th at The Case is Altered in Old Redding. We took over the whole of the dining area and so felt very safe and the 3 course lunch was delicious. We hope our patronage goes some way to support this hard pressed
