these action packed walks are designed to help you improve your fitness levels and gain FAST results.
Your qualified instructor will add motivating drills and execises into a fast paced fun walk.

This workout walk will include a short walk along the South West Coast National Trail if the tide is in or will take in the Rudyard Kipling poem etched along the promenade should the tide be out as a precursor to the scheduled workout. Alternatively we will walk the Tor. We start and finish at the meeting point (car park at the Spooky House) where outstanding views of the local coastline await our return when taking refreshments in a smart and contemporary venue (The Pier House).

A really lovely walk that follows the road west out of Birstwith village, over or by picturesque bridges, along a dismantled railway line, and up around Dinmore House before descending back into Birstwith. With stunning views across the valley. With some challenging inclines, this walk is just under 4 miles and takes around and hour and three quarters.

Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing.
Note: To participate in regular Nordic WALX, you must have completed our Nordic Freedom Course.

Our Mountsorrel walk has some wonderful sights to offer as well as some interesting history. There are some steep slopes in places but you can wait for others to come down from the summit if you like.

Your overall fitness including your cardio output will improve, It is a whole body workout helping you feel more energised, Using smoveys will support your upper body and core strength and increase your heartrate. As we work in a group everyone can work within their limits.

An Intermediate / Gear 2 walk of approximately 4 miles. The gradient is gentle, no steep hills or ramps, but the aim is to maintain a good pace. There are a couple of alternative routes according to the ground conditions but walkers should be prepared to walk along country roads and farm tracks.
Intermediate - A faster pace than Gear 1 and an established technique is key, but if necessary a little more recovery time for those that need it.
Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.

This is a lovely countryside walk, going through wooded areas and across fields with far reaching views. There will be a discussion as to whether we do the whole loop and then go to the new cafe at Lukins Gym or about half way round we stop at the Home Farm shop/cafe for a drink and cake.
The paths are generally good wide paths the only possible muddy area is on the way back, if it has rained heavily before the walk. We can get around some of it by going over a stile into the field next to the path and back over the next to get back onto the path.
