Once parked in the public car park which is FREE - meet opposite the Café.
For those who have completed the 'Learn to' Nordic walking course. Enjoy a GENTLE full body work out while walking beside the banks of the Taw estuary, along the South West Coast path,(SWCP) Tarka trail and Home Farm Marsh before returning to the Cafe for a well-deserved “revive me” cup of coffee. Simply enjoy sociable Nordic walking in stunning locations with a mixed ability group. The route taken across the Chase varies each week but the intention is to start your week with a moderate intensity walk of around 3 miles exploring the picturesque Cannock Chase.

From the main Eartham Woods car park, we will walk one of the many varied woodland walks available in Eartham Woods: expect some ups and downs along the way with a wonderful variety of trees and, depending on our route, some open downland views.
Walking Levels Explained
Easy – Up to 2.5 to 3 mph
Ideal for casual walkers who enjoy conversation along the way. These walks are mostly flat, and any hills will be tackled slowly and gently.
Moderate – 3 to 3.5 mph
A steady pace that may lead to slightly heavier breathing, particularly on inclines. Suitable for those looking for a bit more of a workout.
Challenging – 3.5 to 4 mph
Suited for experienced walkers who enjoy pushing their pace. These walks may include longer durations (2+ hours), steeper inclines/declines, or uneven terrain. Though challenging, there will be moments to catch your breath, usually on flat or downhill sections.
Note: We never leave anyone behind. The walk leader makes sure everyone is looked after.

You can do an unlimited number of walks and exercise sessions, including online classes for as little as £27 per month. This is works out at £3.30 per session if you average attending twice a week.

Starting from The Old Dog in Thorpe we will walk across fields to Tissington before doing a loop of the village to view all the wonderful Well Dressings. If capacity allows we will stop for refreshments at Herbert's tearoom before our return to Thorpe along the Tissington Trail.
If you would like to just see the well dresings we can meet you in Tissington at aroud 11am, but parking arrangements in the village are different and you will need to follow their signs and park appropriately. if this is your preferred option please let me know, as you won't need to book and pay for the walk.
