Duration – 1 ½ hours, walk grade - 3.5.  Not everyone walks at the same pace!  The Regular Walk is a social way to get fit and stay fit.  It`s aimed at moderate paced walkers and above.  After a warm up we will set off together and those that wish to walk fast can go ahead and at certain points we will gather together.  This is achieved by those walking ahead will, at certain points or times, double back to the rear of the group or remaining at a pre-determined rendezvous point and practicing drills or other gentle exercises to keep warm and active.

This is a circular walk of about 5 miles from the Tarot Leisure Centre in Petersfield with a stop at the lovely cafe at Sky Park Farm.  We walk through fenced paths where you can get close to the deer herds.

Walk Description:

Join this mini retreat and learn how to “turn your walk into a workout” with Nordic Walking Tonbridge and experience the energising and restorative art of Qigong with Be Well With Annabel.  We will also be joined by Sophie Playford Reflexology who will chat to us (over coffee) about the benefits and science of Reflexology.

Timings for the day are approximately as follows:

9-9:30 meet  and grab a coffee from the cafe

9:30-11 Learn the Power of the Poles - in this session you will learn how to use Nordic Walking Poles for propulsion and to engage your core and work your upper body aswell as your legs.  We will look at how to use your feet correctly, hill technique and gears. 

11-11:45 Sophie from Sophie Playford Reflexology will talk to us about the benefits and science of Reflexology and Annabel (Be Well with Annabel) will give a brief introduction to Qigong.  We will provide coffee and a flapjack! 

11:45-1:30 We will go on a Nordic Walk to practise the technique learned, and we will stop en route for a Qigong session while surrounded by nature.

The mini-retreat will end at approximately 1:30pm and you will go home with a goodie bag!  You will also receive your Nordic Walking Freedom Pass which means you can book any walks with Nordic Walking Tonbridge or any Nordic Walking UK instructor!

 

The cost for this event is £34pp or £60 for 2.  I will provide payment details once you have confirmed you wish to book.

Chi Ball is a mixture of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates. The Tai Chi and Dance section is in standing and the Yoga, Pilates and Relaxation is on a mat.

The sequences change with the seasons concentrating on different areas of the body.

 

The summer is associated with the Fire element which governs the Heart, small intestine, pericardium and the triple heater.  The triple heater is the meridian that is believed to play an important role in circulating vital energy through out the body.

A chi ball is used but a toilet roll or small pilates/yoga ball is ok to use. If you want to invest in a chi ball then I can send you the details of where to get one from.
