Walk Description:

A comfortably paced Total Body WALX for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - a mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session.

Walk Description:

A 5 mile walk from Bloxworth Village Hall (Honesty Box for parking so please bring some change), a gently undulating walk around lanes and tracks of the area.The walk has a good mixture of terrrain from farmland fields, tracks, woodland with lot of flora and wild flowers to spot.  

We pass through some little villages with thatched houses and pretty gardens as well as through  fields with far reaching views. 

Parts of the walk can be muddy if there has been a lot of rain so good sturdy walking shoes are a requirement.  

There are no toilets available and if the weather is dry we will take a rest for coffee enroute so please bring your refreshments with you. 

There are 4 stiles on this walk, some slow hills to walk up and parts of the walk is on tarmac.

Power of Poles intro course

Find out how to use fitness walking poles to achieve the results YOU want. This course will help you understand how to select the right kind of poles and use them for health, fitness, fun or challenges.

This course will ensure you get the correct movement and techniques from the start. We provide the poles for tuition sessions. These are strapless during the first part and we change to strapped nordic walking poles in the second half of the course.

After this course you will receive the Freedom Passport to book walks with all NWUK instructors.

A progression to an optional Part 2 of the course gives you the opportunity to explore how to get more out of using Nordic style strapped poles with drills and advanced technique tuition.

Don`t forget to wear suitable shoes and clothing for all weathers and bring a drink and snack.

Come, spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning exploring interesting circular walks, up hill and down dale, in the Chilterns and South Bucks areas. With a wide variety of venues and terrain to chose from you are sure to discover a few favourites. Disley Nordic Walks

Meeting at the War Memorial in Disley (in front of The Rams Head) we`ll have a warm-up before we head off exploring the magnificent countryside around the Parish of Disley. It varies from urban to rural very quickly with differing views to be had on each walk, after the walk we do some stretches too.

The walks are advertised at 90mins but they may take a little longer than that, due to terrain, weather.

Duration - 1 hour, walk grade 2.5.  This walk is conducted at a gentle pace, with rest stops if required.  Regular catch-up and re-grouping to allow people to walk ahead if required.   This class combines Nordic walking with strength and balance exercises.  As well as improving your cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength the focus on posture, balance and flexibility will alleviate physical stresses on your body.  This is also an effective total body workout for those new or returning to exercise or seeking gentler exercise that accommodates their medical needs.  You`ll feel great after completing this class!  You can walk and talk but still enjoy the benefits of Nordic Walking.

Walk Description:

The Saturday Strider is led this week by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain and is an easy/moderate pace 2-3 mile, 1 hour walk. Get some great Nordic Walking exercise, fresh air and chat! They are great walks to attend to build your fitness especially if you`d like to progress onto the faster paced or longer walks. 

Meeting point - We meet outside the cafe at the Clifton Country Park Visitor Centre Car Park. (Sat Nav: M27 6NG). Plenty of free parking. Easily reached via exit 16 off the M60 or exit 2 off the M61, then along the A666 and turn down Clifton House Road (follow brown signs). Bus stop: Use the Clifton Cricket Club stop on Manchester Road (Bus numbers 8 and 22). Park is a short walk down Clifton House Road.

Why not come earlier for 10.30 & join in our cafe social between the end of the Early Bird Workout Walk and the start of the 11am session.... have a quick brew (option to bring your own mug to be more environmentally friendly & save 20p on your drink too) and have breakfast if you wish.

Toilet facilities are available at the cafe (along with the usual hot drinks and snacks).

Walk Description:

A great way to start the week is with an Active Mondays walk in and around Stanmore. Get ready for the weekend with a stimulating Saturday morning walk around Stanmore Country park. Or join us on a Sunday morning for a longer, faster paced walk in Ruislip Woods.These are intermediate walks, lasting one hour and will include some hill work. For those new to the area you`ll be surprised at the fantastic views over London that you get from Wood Farm Viewpoint, the hidden lakes in PearsWood and Bentley Priory and the seemigly endless trails through woods which change with the seasons.

Walkabout Wednesdays give the opportunity to travel a little further into neighbouring boroughs, or out along the Metropolitan line into the Chess Valley. Saturdays we`re always in the Stanmore Country Park, but we never tire of it as there are such a variety of trails to explore.
