After a warm up we will set off together and those that wish to walk fast can go ahead and at certain points we will gather together. This is achieved by those walking ahead will, at certain points or times, double back to the rear of the group or remaining at a pre-determined rendezvous point and practicing drills or other gentle exercises to keep warm and active.

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.
On Fridays we like to start and end our walk (or drive a short way) at a local cafe. The walks are around 4-5 miles and take around 2 hours.
Poles are optional on an Open WALX - if you would like to try some poles please contact me in advance.

Gentle WALX which incorporate balance work, flexibility and strength exercises and maybe a bit of tai chi or relaxation too. All Wellness session incorporating gentle fitness walking with above activities, taught by a retired nurse. It is sociable and can be followed by a cafe visit
This is a friendly mixed ability group open to all with or without poles. Many members prefer to walk with poles as they find it is more effective than ordinary walking .When poles are used we are able to engage the upper body, core muscles, improve posture burn more calories and they can help if you have balace issues. This is a mixed ability walk and we split into 2 or 3 groups so all can walk at apace which is beneficial for the individual
Please bring a drink and any medication you may need , your mobole phone in a small rucsac.
