In this session we work on helping you to get strong legs, upper body strength, ankle strength, hip stability, balaance, agility all whilst having a great laugh.
You will be working hard but at appropriate level for your ability.
Everyone is supportive and youwill be made very welcome.
YOU DO NOT NEED POLES IF YOU ARE NOT A NORDIC WALKER.
You will part your car at the Ewe and Lamb then make your way over to the field opposite The Hanbury Turn Pub.
Please be at the field by 9.25am ready for the warm up.
ONLINE CLASSES
For online classes you must ensure that you have a clear area to train (Approx 2m Square).
You must dress appropriately for the session.
You must ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date in your profile.
You will need a mat for floor exercises, a tea towel for strength exercises and a place where you can do press ups such as a kitchen work surface. If you have access to a fitness band that would be useful too.
If the class is billed as a Gymstick/Pro X Walker/Isobow owners class you MUST have these items.
INDOOR CLASSES
Bring a mat and clothing suitable for indoor fitness.
OUTDOOR CLASSES
You must be fit and healthy enoygh to take part in sessions outside on grass and other surfaces.

This walk is approximately 4.1 miles. Starting at the Forge Café, parking on road but take care not to block access.
Using bridle ways, we take a short stretch along minor road (approx 500m). Some stony paths but generally wide paths.The walk is though village, across fields with views and through woodland.

Gentle WALX which incorporate balance work, flexibility and strength exercises and maybe a bit of tai chi or relaxation too. All Wellness session incorporating gentle fitness walking with above activities, taught by a retired nurse. It is sociable and can be followed by a cafe visit
This is a friendly mixed ability group open to all with or without poles. Many members prefer to walk with poles as they find it is more effective than ordinary walking .When poles are used we are able to engage the upper body, core muscles, improve posture burn more calories and they can help if you have balace issues. This is a mixed ability walk and we split into 2 or 3 groups so all can walk at apace which is beneficial for the individual
Please bring a drink and any medication you may need , your mobole phone in a small rucsac.

Join Sally and John for a 2 hour WALX starting from Bankes Arms- South Beach NT car park in Studland.
A varied route through the village then 2 hills through woodlands with spectacular views. One more hill and we are at the top. We then go onto the heath and walk around the Agglestone looking at it from every angle. Far reaching views. Good wide gravel tracks with some uneven ground.
We will walk at a steady pace with plenty of time to catch our breath and admire the views
There will be a pit stop so please bring a drink and snack.
Bankes Arms for lunch afterwards if desired.
National Trust car park. Toilets nearby (allow 10 minutes)

A gentler walk for those with a medical condition that means their mobility is limited, and who feel their fitness levels have declined as a result. Reduced balance may also be an issue. The challenge is still to manage an hour walk, with rests when needed. Exercises are included to work on leg strength, flexibility, and balance. Regularly weekly walks can bring about improvements and improve confidence. The walk will cover different routes each week on the Greensward, or inland along the wooded paths. These walks will follow the “Poles apart” procedure at all times.

A great way to start the week is with an Active Mondays walk in and around Stanmore. These are intermediate walks, lasting one hour and will include some hill work. For those new to the area you`ll be surprised at the fantastic views over London that you get from Wood Farm Viewpoint, the hidden lakes in PearsWood and Bentley Priory and the seemigly endless trails through woods which change with the seasons.
Walkabout Wednesdays give the opportunity to travel a little further into neighbouring boroughs, or out along the Metropolitan line into the Chess Valley. Saturdays we`re always in the Stanmore Country Park, but we never tire of it as there are such a variety of trails to explore.
COVID Safety Steps
Facial coverings are recommended to protect yourself when passing others. I may wear a face covering at the start of walks and carry gloves to open gates for you to go through. Throughout the walk we will maintain social distancing as best we can at all times.
NB we will not be hirning poles during the current pandemic to prevent transmission of the virus.

Today we're at Ramsbury for Christmas Walk 11 - Just a Lovely Winter Walk - easy trails, a short hill and then some lovely treats at the end at a lovely cafe.
Ramsbury is a pretty village on the River Kennet. This is our favourite route taking the road out of the village past the Kennet and then up the hill through the estate and down towards Littlecote House. Littlecote House is a beautiful tudor style building now a hotel and we find roman remains within the grounds including a roman mosaic.
