A final pre-Christmas walk around the Arne RSPB Nature Reserve. Spend some relaxing time walking the heath and woodland paths to Shipstal point, looking out for wading birds in the mudflats along the circular route back to the visitor centre and cafe where we will stop for coffee/cake.
Entry is free to RSPB members (please bring along your membership card) or you can pay an entry fee of £5 per person for the day. This goes towards helping protect the reserve and its inhabitants as well as conservation work through out the area.

One of our all-time favourites, this walk starts from Ripley, heads north following the Nidderdale Way up to High Cayton then loops round towards Newton Hall before returning to Ripley. The walk is just under 5 miles, and takes about 2 hours. Conducted mostly in gear 2, the walk also offers some long stretches on an even surface to notch the pace up a gear!

We will meet at the top end of the Crow Point car park at 11.00am and then take a gentle stroll out onto the beach. Depending on wind direction and strength, we will either walk around the point or cut through the middle. We might walk back along the Board Walk if we get that far, otherwise we will just return along the shoreline.
If open, we will have a coffee back at 51 Degrees North, on the side of Tesco's.

If you have completed a beginner course and have let things slide a bit, this session could be just what you are looking for. You don`t need to be a regular Norfolk Nordic Walking member and you are not obligated to participate in all our sessions.

The POWER OF THE POLES Induction process is suitable for all levels and is a structured teaching programme.
Your qualified Instructor will help you understand your current level of fitness and empower you to use poles at the correct intensity in order to get the results you want.
At the end of this session, you will have a full understanding of using poles correctly and a level where you will be automatically enrolled with the WALX Freedom Passport, allowing you to join Nordic WALX all around the UK.
Poles will be supplied - please wear flexible walking shoes and loose layers suitable for the weather of the day.

Duration – 1 ½ hours, walk grade - 3. Not everyone walks at the same pace! The Regular Walk is a social way to get fit and stay fit. It`s aimed at moderate paced walkers and above. After a warm up we will set off together and those that wish to walk fast can go ahead and at certain points we will gather together. This is achieved by those walking ahead will, at certain points or times, double back to the rear of the group or remaining at a pre-determined rendezvous point and practicing drills or other gentle exercises to keep warm and active.
