This is an early morning walk to get you ready for the day. We will visit 4 locations in rotation, Stour Meadows where we will hopefully get to see the Kingfishers and the Otters, Field Grove woods for the birds and possible Deer, The Mildown for birds and whilst it is still fairly dark the possibilty of a Bat or two circling over head and then Stourpaine for the beautful scenery with lots of sheep up on Hod Hill plus Deer when we cross the River Stour.

Each week we focus on specific balance activities to activate the core and improve our equilibrium such as `clock` work, `tight rope`, `flamingo stand` and `superman`.
We strengthen muscle groups with different `flex` activities - you may want to use light hand weights for this. A chair is an essential tool...

Duration – 1 ½ hours, walk grade - 3. Not everyone walks at the same pace! The Regular Walk is a social way to get fit and stay fit. It`s aimed at moderate paced walkers and above. After a warm up we will set off together and those that wish to walk fast can go ahead and at certain points we will gather together. This walk is part of the Leaden Boot Challenge trainings calendar.
An easy walk made strenuous as we walk this circuit in mostly gear 3, altough there will be some sections of gear 2, double poling and other exercises.

Buxworth and Eccles Pike
Special Event No freedom passport needed to book on.
There's no need to worry about navigation, allowing you to take time to soak in the stunning views and enjoy great company.
Led by an experienced Nordic Walking Instructor who is Outdoor First Aid Trained and will support you along the way.
We start this walk from the Navigation Inn at Buxworth, leaving behind the terminus of the Peak Forest Canal we'll head along the site of the Peak Forest Tramway Trail which used to deliver limestone to the basin, we pass the Old Hall Inn towards Chapel Milton
We then start the steady climb up to the summit of Eccles Pike, which offers great views of Manchester, Cracken Edge, Chinley Churn and Kinder Scout (on clear days) from there we will drop down through fields to Whaley Bridge where we'll rejoin the canal and return to the basin with chance for a quick loop of the basin and heritage boards, with the option of a drink or snack afterwards.
