9.30am START. Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the 'Saturday Early Bird Workout Walk' is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, & push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code. Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. Will also incorporates some technique work to help you get the most out of your Nordic Walking.
Special offer for Early Birds - Stay after the walk for the social at the cafe.... have a quick brew (option to bring your own mug to be more environmentally friendly & save 20p on your drink too/ or 50% off if over 70 (ID required)) and have breakfast if you wish... you then have the option for a 'Saturday Buy one get one free' - ask Susan to book you on to the 11am 1hour social easy pace Saturday Strider Adventure Walk too for another hour of social chat & easy pace walking - so you get 2 hours walk for the price of one. (Even better value if you're on the monthly Direct Debit option!).
Meeting point - We meet outside the cafe at the Clifton Country Park Visitor Centre Car Park. (Sat Nav: M27 6NG). Plenty of free parking. Easily reached via exit 16 off the M60 or exit 2 off the M61, then along the A666 and turn down Clifton House Road (follow brown signs). Bus stop: Use the Clifton Cricket Club stop on Manchester Road (Bus numbers 8 and 22). Park is a short walk down Clifton House Road.
Toilet facilities are available at the cafe (along with the usual hot drinks and snacks).
Poles can be hired on the day for £1 (coin)

This is a beautiful woody walk across the cricket pitch and into Hollands Wood campsite (not in use in the winter!) where you`ll enjoy lovely views across the Balmer Lawn with its abundance of ponies, cattle and pigs at the right time of year! Then we`ll head up the hill and into the Parkhill Inclosure and walk around to Standing Hat before returning along the cycle track. This walk is just over an hour.

Macclesfield Forest and Tegg's Nose Country Park Longer Walk
Special Event No freedom passport needed to book on.
Join us on this walk with great views through the working forest over reservoirs and the surrounding countryside as we make our way round a varied route ranging from tracks to trails and roads and everything in between.Led by an experienced Nordic Walking Instructor who is Outdoor First Aid Trained and will support you along the way.
There's no need to worry about navigation, allowing you to take time to soak in the stunning views and enjoy great company.
Gear 1 with hills - Moderate Walk with two steep ascents one at approx 3km and the other at 6km
approx 10km with 400m of climb allow 3.5 hours

A comfortably paced Total Body WALX for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - a mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session.
Details can be given if you would like to purchase a ball, for more details on the full chi ball virtual class please see the booking system.
You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.

A 5 mile flat route with some historical landmarks. This is a linear walk with the option of walking back to the start from the pub (4 miles) or getting a lift back. When booking please express your preference by emailing rebecca.winchesternw@gmail.com
Starting from Micheledever woods we walk up to East Stratton and around the grounds of Stratton Park, (formally the Bank of England in WWII). Before heading back we will stop at the Northbrook Arms for lunch. We'll then walk back to Micheldever Woods again.
Options available:
1) you can either walk back from the put which is an extra 4 miles, or
2) We can give you a lift back from the pub to the starting point.

This is a gentle walk around the top of Fontmell Down showing both sides of the hill but without the steep climbs.

Our lovely Christmas walk with lunch afterwards is eagerly awaited each year! This year we will be walking from Delph and then lunching at The Old Bell. The walk is 3 hour long and there will be an option for well-being walkers to join us for the final hour and also for those wanting a push, to have one within the 3 hour walk.
