For online classes you must ensure that you have a clear area to train (Approx 2m Square).
You must dress appropriately for the session.
You must ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date in your profile.
You will need a mat for floor exercises, a tea towel for strength exercises and a place where you can do press ups such as a kitchen work surface. If you have access to a fitness band that would be useful too.

A gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter!
This is a gentle session which will help build up your stamina with the benefit of using Nordic Walking poles to help with balance. They take the pressure off your knees and lower back. This session is suitable for those who want to build up to the longer or more vigorous walks or may have concerns about their health and are looking for an easier pace on a good terrain. Many of our members are seeing the benefits of participating in the wellness sessions.
Results have included a reduction in blood pressure, improvements in breathing, better balance and a general feeling of wellbeing. We have a lot of fun as we exercise in the fresh air. This is a very social session and we encourage chatting!
You do not have to have a passport to join wellbeing classes. Be good to yourself and book now!

Duration – 1 ½ hours, walk grade 3.5. The Regular Walk is a social way to get fit and stay fit. It`s aimed at walkers that can maintain a pace of 3.5 mph. After a warm up we will set off together and those that wish to walk fast can go ahead and at certain points we will gather together. This is achieved by those walking ahead will, at certain points or times, double back to the rear of the group or remaining at a pre-determined rendezvous point and practicing drills or other gentle exercises to keep warm and active.

Rose Hill Marple Nordic Walks
Come along and join us on a friendly Nordic Walk starting at The Railway Pub near Rose Hill Station Marple, there are different circular routes around the area, using a mixture of streets, canals, parks, woodland, riverside paths, and bridlepaths.
The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end.
The walks are advertised at 90mins but they may take a little longer than that, due to terrain, and other factors.

Gears 1 and maybe 2 with some hills.

MIKE`S LONGER 2-3 HOUR TUESDAY ADVENTURE WALK (meet at 10.20am for a prompt 10.30am start time) - Led by Parks and Pathways Walk Leader Mike Podmore. It will be a moderate pace 2 -3 hour walk of around 5 to 8 miles from different locations taking place at least twice a month when Mike is available.
THIS WEEK - Werneth Low Country Park & the Transpennine Trail from Bowlacre Road, Hyde. This walk is 5 miles and is generally on reasonable surfaces. Please note that there is one steep ascent up to the top of Werneth Low and one stile to cross. From Bowlacre Road the walk joins the Trans Pennine Trail at Apethorn passing under 5 former railway bridges. After visiting the site of the old Godley Railway Turntable we follow country tracks to rejoin the TPT before our ascent through this Werneth Low Country Park where we will visit the Hyde Cenotaph for a spot of lunch to admire the views of the Pennine Hills and maybe even the Welsh Hills on a very clear day. We then begin our descent on country tracks passing the local golf course, squash club and the Hare and Hounds pub before continuing on roads back to the start. Bring a packed lunch & drink with you. Toilets are not available but there are plenty of places for 'wild'!
Meeting point – Meet on Bowlacre Road, Hyde, SK14 5ES at its junction with West Park. Leave the M60 at junction 25 and take the A560 exit signposted Bredbury. At the Bredbury interchange roundabout take the 2nd exit (Crookilley Way) onto the A560. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Ashton Road A560. AT the T junction turn left onto A560 Stockport Road. Continue to follow the A560. After Woodley Station, in half a mile the road bends sharp right. Turn 2nd right after the bend onto Bowlacre Road. Parking is available on either side of the road.

You may join this walk without the Power of Poles training, I will teach you the technique during the walk.
The walk will be designed for all levels from rehabilitation to advanced Nordic Walkers - the beauty of green spaces.
We will leave the car park and have a short walk through the pathways to lead us to Worcestor park where we can either take a walk around the path or on to the green and bring in the hills to the workout. Some weeks we may venture to Stone recreation ground or along the Thames to the Abbey at Ingress Park.

Stunning views over the City of Bath via various routes depending on the weather conditions. Once up there it is relatively flat and depending on route can be more or less challenging as some pathways are uneven, rooty and can be muddy. Others flat and grassy meadowland. A combination of woodland, forest bathing in Bathwick Woods and beyond, meadow and golf course - taking in the views of the city below. We will mainly be in a brisk Gear 1 moving into Gear 2 for this walk but there are options for Gear 3 for those who want more of a challenge. Route can be changed in terms of challenge depending on preference within the group.
