A comfortably paced Total Body WALX for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - a mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session.
Details can be given if you would like to purchase a ball, for more details on the full chi ball virtual class please see the booking system.
You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.

During this 45 minute session you get to feel the benefits from using the poles for walking. Using up to 90% of the body muscle, it targets those difficult to tone areas. Walking with poles is fun, social, fantastic and it will change the way you exercise.
Poles are provided for the session.
Please have suitable footwear on and a rucksack is advised for your belongings.
There is a charge for Danson Park car park after 10.00am.

In front of the Stables Car Park, the Instructor has a grey car.
Hall Place Meeting point
Please meet on the right hand side as you enter the car park as if you were in a car. The Instructor will be parked under the tree and have a grey car, A group will be returning to the car just before the meeting time.

Come, spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning exploring interesting circular walks, up hill and down dale, in the Chilterns and South Bucks areas. With a wide variety of venues and terrain to chose from you are sure to discover a few favourites. The walk will change each week, and where practical will finish somewhere with refreshments and facilities.
Enjoy sociable Nordic Walking with your fellow experienced Freedom Passport holders in a variety of locations with a mixed ability group.
Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors, at the same time as improving your fitness and wellbeing.
We aim for a steady pace rather than a race. We'll aim for each walk to be about 2 hours duration.

Your qualified instructor will add motivating drills and exercises into a steady/fast paced fun walk dependant on individual abilities. Lead by an accredited instructors these walks make the most of our beautiful county and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors. This walk is a very vaired walk as we do some road/path work, wooded areas, open park land and river path walk. It is a lovely walk highlighting how quickly you can be within nature and away from it all.
The walk as suggested above is mixed terrain with some uneven areas. A few hills and a few steps. Two Styles and a couple of gates. Wonderful views of countryside and the River Stour.

Marple Bridge Nordic Walks
10:30 - 12:00 using Gears 1 and maybe 2 with some hills
Come along and join us on easy paced social walks of around 5km (3miles), on varied circular routes around the village of Marple Bridge. There are canals, country parks, woodland, riverside paths, bridlepaths and some industrial heritage too.
There`s a short warm-up before we get going and stretches afterwards.
We meet in the Free Car Park just above The Midland Hotel on Brabyns Brow, The red bays are 4 hours "Short Stay" so if one is free grab it!

This is a beautiful woody walk across the cricket pitch and into Hollands Wood campsite (not in use in the winter!). You`ll enjoy lovely views across the Balmer Lawn with its abundance of ponies, cattle and pigs at the right time of year! It`s flat and good underfoot, although there are one or two muddy bits at the beginning!

The Saturday Strider is led this week by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain and is an easy/moderate pace 2-3 mile, 1 hour walk. Get some great Nordic Walking exercise, fresh air and chat! They are great walks to attend to build your fitness especially if you`d like to progress onto the faster paced or longer walks.
Meeting point - We meet outside the cafe at the Clifton Country Park Visitor Centre Car Park. (Sat Nav: M27 6NG). Plenty of free parking. Easily reached via exit 16 off the M60 or exit 2 off the M61, then along the A666 and turn down Clifton House Road (follow brown signs). Bus stop: Use the Clifton Cricket Club stop on Manchester Road (Bus numbers 8 and 22). Park is a short walk down Clifton House Road.
Why not come earlier for 10.30 & join in our cafe social between the end of the Early Bird Workout Walk and the start of the 11am session.... have a quick brew (option to bring your own mug to be more environmentally friendly & save 20p on your drink too/ or 50% off if over 70 (ID required)) and have breakfast if you wish.
Toilet facilities are available at the cafe (along with the usual hot drinks and snacks).
Poles can be hired on the day for £1 (coin)

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills, our Explorer WALX capture the variety of scenery, themes and types of WALX that suit your lifestyle. If you love WALX to the pub or WALX with the dog or simply WALX in wild locations we have them all! Whether long, short, tough or gentle we welcome all ages and all levels.
On weekends we like to start and end our walk (or drive a short way) at a local cafe. The walks are around 4-5 miles and take around 2 hours.

A new route from the village of Ridge crossing open countryside and farmland following the Colne Valley.
This is an approximately 5.5 mile route.
Starting and finishing from the Old Guinea Pub.
If possible car share as the pub car park gets very busy even at breakfast time. We have allowed 2 hrs for this walk to arrive back at the pub for breakfast/brunch at 10am.
