A purposeful small group nordic walk, up to 2 miles at gear 1-2. May include stopping for simple breathing, balance, strengthening and flexibility exercises.This walk is suitable for those new to walking outdoors, with health conditions or recovering from illness/ injury.
Poles are provided for this session. Please aim to arrive 5-10min before the start time so we can begin the session promptly.
This is an outdoor activity and you will need to bring appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and terrain which can be uneven, stony and muddy.
Please bring a water bottle and snacks and a small back pack is useful for carrying them in.

The walk leaves Hampsthwaite via the churchyard, and crosses fields before climbing up through Gormires Wood. The walk then descends via Swincliffe Lane and Hurst Lane before returning to Hampsthwaite. At about 3.3 miles, the walk takes around 90 minutes.

Our late afternoon/evening walks are a general level walk that will take in scenic spots around the area and aim to enjoy a sunset (weather permitting).
Today is an afternoon walk at Wilton starting at the pond and walking into the Brail and back via the canal. We'll walk in late afternoon at an easy pace for around 1.5 hours and be finished by 5:30pm.

a strength & conditioning session, designed to improve our overall body strength, core strength, mobility, flexibility and balance. The session comprises:- A short dynamic warm up to get us ready for the exercises to follow; A main section targetting key muscle groups to support and enhance our longer term Walking capabilities; and A controlled cool down, to enhance recovery. The session focuses on quality posture and range of motion. We will not be lifting any weights just working within our own capabilities and against gravity : )

These walks are a great opportunity to exercise and meet and chat to other walkers. They are of moderate pace with the opportunity should you wish to push yourself a little further. You will walk with a qualified walk leader or master. These walks start at different locations to give you the enjoyment of walking in the surrounding countryside of your local area.
These walks are often lead by qualified walk leaders and can be from an hour to 3 hours long. It is a moderate paced walk with a few stops. An hours social walk naturally tends to be at a quick pace than the 90+ minutes.

This is a friendly mixed ability group open to all with or without poles. Many members prefer to walk with poles as they find it is more effective than ordinary walking .When poles are used we are able to engage the upper body, core muscles, improve posture burn more calories and they can help if you have balace issues. This is a mixed ability walk and we split into 2 or 3 groups so all can walk at apace which is beneficial for the individual
