NB Today the walk starts in Tissington Village
These gentle walks are suitable for people who would like to start Nordic Walking to get fit but have no/ little walking experience, have had an injury or an knee/ hip operation.
We often walk on the Tissington Trail as this is fairly level and even. But we will also incorporate fields and hills in our walks which are 2-3 miles.
Gear 1 and 2
Sometimes we meet somewhere else to do a similar walk.

A more gentle walk for those with a recent medical condition that means that mobility is limited, and who feel their fitness levels have declined as a result. The challenge is still to manage an hour walk, with rests when needed. Regularly weekly walks can bring improvements.
Start of the walk is at the same time of the other group. Warming up exercises are together and we meet again in the car park for a hot drink.

Explore the amazing Wareham Forest - miles of tracks and trails with surprising viewpoints and a mix of terrain from heathland heather to unique bogs (we won't walk in that!) Stunning trees, full of birdsong and plenty of deer and other wildlife too. Uneven ground, roots and mud at times.
We meet in the Sika Trail Car Park for a circular route through the Wareham Forest.

Knole is beautiful at any time of the year - if it's not too muddy we will venture off the main paths.
We will pass by the tea room for a toilet break if required!
I need a minimum of 3 people for a walk. Please cancel by 6pm the day before a walk. If you need to cancel after this time or on the day of the walk, I would ask that you just let me know that you cannot attend and the walk will remain chargeable. If a walk is to be cancelled due to insufficient numbers, I will let you know by 8pm the evening before.
MODERATE Walks - walks might involve hills and we walk at a pace of around 3 - 3.5 miles per hour. The walks are usually around 90 mins.

A higher intensity and extended version of an old favourite, where we will fully explore the landscape of Rectory Wood and Field. This is an attractive walk with good views, and plenty of interest, as well as being good for a workout, with plenty of hillwork and woodland steps to get the circulation pumping.
Wear a Christmas hat or jumper if you wish, and join us in the Pavilion afterwards for a warming drink by way of a Christmas celebration.
Nordic Walx are simply sociable Nordic walks in a mixed ability group, enjoying beautiful locations in and around South Shropshire and beyond. Most routes are circular and will try to make the most of the beautiful surroundings.

You donot need to pre book a slot at Attingham Park in addition to booking the walk but you will need to Identify yourself as a booked Nordic Walker. ie bring your booked Nordic walking booking confirmation email if possible. I will provide Attingham with a list of attendees.
NT members should show their membership card on entry.
Non National Trust Members need to be aware that they need to pay a £5 Active pass on arrival for each session (or become mebers if they plan to walk reguarly).

NOTE 10AM START THIS WEEK TO ALLOW FOR BREW BREAK AT CAFE AT 11AM. LED THIS WEEK BY OUR WALK LEADER RUTH EVANS. This is a faster paced 1 hour Adventure Walk led by Walk Leader, Ruth Evans and replaces the Thursday Thunderer Workout Walk when Instructor Susan isn't available. Start times and locations vary to give variety on a week by week basis so please check carefully each week but all will be in the Salford area.
This week - starting from Parr Fold Park, Walkden, Worsley. (Why not stay after the walk for the brew break social at the cafe)
Meeting point – Meet outside the park entrance at the corner of Park Road & Rutland Road. From the A580 East Lancashire Road, turn onto the A575 Walkden Road. After passing Worsley College on your left, at the mini roundabout turn left onto Park Road (circa 0.5 mile from A580). Then turn left into Rutland Road as you reach the end of the park. There is a large layby to park as you turn into Rutland Road. Please don't block driveways. We will meet at the park entrance on Rutland Road.
Toilet facilities are available at the cafe after the walk (along with the usual hot drinks and snacks) which opens at 11am.
Please note: No poles are available for hire on this session.
