Come, spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning exploring interesting circular walks, up hill and down dale, in the Chilterns and South Bucks areas. With a wide variety of venues and terrain to chose from you are sure to discover a few favourites. The walk will change each week, and where practical will finish somewhere with refreshments and facilities.
Enjoy sociable Nordic Walking with your fellow experienced Freedom Passport holders in a variety of locations with a mixed ability group.
Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors, at the same time as improving your fitness and wellbeing.
We aim for a steady pace rather than a race. We'll aim for each walk to be about 2 hours duration.

A comfortably paced walk for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - A mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session. Details can be given if you would like to purchase a ball. It's time for "Boots & Book Club" . Our choice this month is Woodston: The biography of an English Farm by John Lewis-Stempel.
We will walk from Penshurst Place and return to the Porcupine cafe for coffee and book chat!
This is a perfect walk for those who want to come for a taster. We will walk at a fairly gentle pace and I will give you some tips on using the poles (or you can walk without poles if you prefer). The book discussion is informal and very relaxed. You can of course just join for the walk OR even miss the walk and come along for the book chat - just let me know!
I need a minimum of 3 people for a walk. Please cancel by 6pm the day before a walk. If you need to cancel after this time or on the day of the walk, I would ask that you just let me know that you cannot attend and the walk will remain chargeable. If a walk is to be cancelled due to insufficient numbers, I will let you know by 8pm the evening before.
Well-Being walks are gentle paced walks for all. Most people will be walking with Nordic Walking poles but this is not essential. You can walk with or without poles and no prior Nordic Walking experience is required.

Our Easy Monday morning walks are a great way to practice your technique and take a gentle approach to improving your technique. Great for those new to nordic walking or those looking for an easier walk level.
Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing.
Note: To participate in regular Nordic WALX, you must have completed our Nordic Freedom Course.
Please note walkers must observe social distancing following government guidelines for COVD-19.

Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the 'Monday Blaster Workout Walk' is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code. Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. Will also incorporates some technique work to help you get the most out of your Nordic Walking.
