The route taken across the Chase varies each week, but the intention is to take a midweek walk with a moderate intensity walk of around 3 miles, exploring the picturesque Cannock Chase.

We cater for all fitness levels, so whether you are just starting your WALX journey, returning after a break or a hardened weekly walker, this walk is for you.

WALX of Wellbeing are free walks led by qualified volunteer walk leaders, previously known as Walking for Health Walks these are a great way to get outdoors, enjoy the green spaces and make new friends.  Please book your session prior to walking, don’t hesitate to get in touch or pop into the library if you need any help.

Description of the walk: Meeting outside the main doors at Crayford Library, the walk will be one of 3 routes depending on the weather. Walks will include Hall Place, Dartford Heath or the River Cray. The walk may be muddy if the weather has been wet. Approximately 1.5 - 3 miles No poles are required on the walk but you are welcome to use them if you prefer.

Join us for a delightful walk around Swanbourne’s Lake and the beautiful surrounding countryside. This scenic route offers a mix of gentle hills and easy flat sections, making it an enjoyable walk for most abilities. We’ll follow well-defined paths, so just remember to wear sturdy walking shoes. Along the way, take in spectacular views and keep an eye out for the wide variety of birdlife that regularly visits the area. A wonderful opportunity to enjoy fresh air, nature, and great company.

This walk has become affectionately know as our 'Cake Walk', as we stop at the end of the exursions to indulge in a wonderful cake at Trevithick Farms and Trays.

Explore -woodland, hills and cliff paths, all part of these most enjoyable walks.

This walk is for those who can walk up to 4-5 km/3miles in an hour and is moderate pace. Please do get in touch if you wish to ascertain your suitability.

It is essential to register and book in advance online, whether you are on a 'free' walk package, monthly DD, or pay as you go.

This is a moderate paced class covering approx. 2-3 miles.

For those who have completed the 'Learn to' Nordic walking course. Enjoy a GENTLE full body work out while walking beside the banks of the Taw estuary, along the South West Coast path,(SWCP) Tarka trail and Instow beach. Simply enjoy sociable Nordic walking in stunning locations with a mixed ability group. Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these make the most of our stunning coastal countryside and are a relaxing and therapeutic way to enjoy keeping fit and active outdoors.

Meet at AS Trade Car Sales Forecourt on junction of Yelland Road and Yelland Quay Post code EX313HF as you enter Yelland from the direction of Instow turn immediately left into the car sales forecourt at the above junction adjacent to the bus stop. If travelling from the direction of Barnstaple turn right as above once past the new David Wilson housing estate. The junction is signed the Estuary business park.
