This is a friendly mixed ability group open to all with or without poles. Many members prefer to walk with poles as they find it is more effective than ordinary walking .When poles are used we are able to engage the upper body, core muscles, improve posture burn more calories and they can help if you have balace issues. A comfortably paced walk for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, the qualified Exercise Referral Instructor will lead you through a warm up, a short walk making stops along the way if needed and working on posture. Exercise bands are often used to give the legs a rest if required to work on the upper body. A sociable enjoyable session finishing with a stretch and then if the weather is dry a cuppa in the park.
A 45 minute walk also goes at this time for those of you who would prefer a longer option to the referral walk and a shorter option to the 60 minute walk.

This is a session designed to help us have more stability and balance. As we age it is imperative that we can retain balance and have stability.

The instructor must:
• work within their area of knowledge and expertise, supported by a nationally accredited instructor qualification/certificate in the specific area of instruction and apply relevant health and safety guidelines at all times• pre-screen each participant prior to every training session. If the participant has any medical conditions, injuries or other conditions which may affect their participation in the proposed exercise activity they must gain consent from their GP prior to participation• assess the suitability of the activity based on the health and capability of the participant, follow any specific guidelines provided by the GP, adapt the exercise accordingly and closely monitor health and well-being• provide safe and effective instruction to prevent injury and promote health• ensure confidentiality of data in line with GDPR. Relevant permission must be gained in order to share content• limit class times to suit individual ability levels• limit class numbers to provide safe and effective coaching.
It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure:
• there is sufficient space to perform the exercises safely and move freely without obstacles or obstructions, free from furniture, equipment and other hazards – a minimum of four square metres per person• any equipment is safe and in a suitable condition for the activity being performed• the surrounding floor space is entirely clear to remove any hazards that may increase the risk of slips, trips or falls• there are no distractions throughout the duration of the session• there is sufficient heating, lighting, ventilation and hydration.In addition, the following disclaimer applies in respect of any pre-recorded sessions:

ONLINE CLASSES
For online classes you must ensure that you have a clear area to train (Approx 2m Square).
You must dress appropriately for the session.
You must ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date in your profile.
You will need a mat for floor exercises, a tea towel for strength exercises and a place where you can do press ups such as a kitchen work surface. If you have access to a fitness band that would be useful too.
If the class is billed as a Gymstick/Pro X Walker/Isobow owners class you MUST have these items.
INDOOR CLASSES
Bring a mat and clothing suitable for indoor fitness.
OUTDOOR CLASSES
You must be fit and healthy enoygh to take part in sessions outside on grass and other surfaces.
