Walk Description:

A gentle safe way to walk yourself fitter! These walks include exercises that help with flexibility, balance and strength whilst using poles to improve general fitness and increase joint mobility. Open to Non nordic walkers but you will be using poles that you can borrow if you do not have your own.

This is more than just a walk, we include exercises to  challenge your flexibility, joint mobility, balance and strength whilst using poles to improve general fitness.Exercises are incorporated within the walk.

This session is suitable for those who want to build up to the longer or more vigorous walks or may have concerns about their health. Many of our members are seeing the benefits of participating in the wellness sessions.

Results have included a reduction in blood pressure, improvements in breathing, better balance and a general feeling of wellbeing.

We have a lot of fun as we exercise in the fresh air. Great for those who are getting back into exercise, have a health condition or simply want to move well and be fit for life!

Walk Description:

We will meet at the top end of the Crow Point car park at 11.00am and then take a gentle stroll out onto the beach. Depending on wind direction and strength, we will either walk around the point or cut through the middle. We might walk back along the Board Walk if we get that far, otherwise we will just return along the shoreline.

If open, we will have a coffee back at 51 Degrees North, on the side of Tesco's.

A Gear 2 walk of an hour/hour fifteen - faster paced, a distance between 4 and 5 miles. The gradient is gentle, but the aim is to maintain a good pace so the technique must be established.

Gear 1 - A nice, easy and natural pace that you can do for extended periods with recovery periods where appropriate. Short hills might be introduced. 

Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.
