Walk Description:

A comfortably paced walk for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine and you would like to participate, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - A mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session. Details can be given if you would like to purchase a ball. Meet at AS Trade Car Sales Forecourt on junction of Yelland Road and Yelland Quay Post code EX313HF as you enter Yelland from the direction of Instow turn immediately left into the car sales forecourt at the above junction adjacent to the bus stop. If travelling from the direction of Barnstaple turn right as above once past the new David Wilson housing estate. The junction is signed the Estuary business park.

This is a stunning location with beautiful views of the New Forest!  We have a choice of walks, depending on the conditions, but some may be wet and muddy, so please wear your waterproof shoes!   This is a gentle walk of about 2.5 miles and the pace is slower than a workout walk but faster than a Nordic Stroll.

The wellbeing walk is suitable for those who have completed the Power of Poles Introductory course/Learn to Nordic walk course and/or haven`t attended a class for a while.

This walk is also suitable for anyone coming back from an injury/illness or has medical conditions that prevent them from walking at a faster pace.

By regularly attending, you will be able to focus on increasing the intensity of your walking as fitness levels improve.

This is a delightful and scenic walk through Thorncombe Woods and Puddletown Forest with a slight difference, we will be working on your Hill stamina. This is for everyone who is looking to improve their Hill work that includes everyone who is looking to start doing longer walks and feels unable to do so due to hills. Everything will be taken at your own level not at the person next to you.

Suitable for all abilites with or without poles.

There is a wealth of wildlife – including resident Dartmoor ponies- and a varied range of mature trees and open scrubland from which, high up, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside with the Purbeck Hill’s in the distance. A walk not to be missed!

We will meet in car park, there is a charge of £2 to use the car park.
