9.30am START. Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the 'Saturday Early Bird Workout Walk' is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, & push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code. Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. Will also incorporates some technique work to help you get the most out of your Nordic Walking.
Special offer for Early Birds - Stay after the walk for the social at the cafe.... have a quick brew (option to bring your own mug to be more environmentally friendly & save 20p on your drink too/ or 50% off if over 70 (ID required)) and have breakfast if you wish... you then have the option for a 'Saturday Buy one get one free' - ask Susan to book you on to the 11am 1hour social easy pace Saturday Strider Adventure Walk too for another hour of social chat & easy pace walking - so you get 2 hours walk for the price of one. (Even better value if you're on the monthly Direct Debit option!).
Meeting point - We meet outside the cafe at the Clifton Country Park Visitor Centre Car Park. (Sat Nav: M27 6NG). Plenty of free parking. Easily reached via exit 16 off the M60 or exit 2 off the M61, then along the A666 and turn down Clifton House Road (follow brown signs). Bus stop: Use the Clifton Cricket Club stop on Manchester Road (Bus numbers 8 and 22). Park is a short walk down Clifton House Road.
Toilet facilities are available at the cafe (along with the usual hot drinks and snacks).
Poles can be hired on the day for £1 (coin)

A comfortably paced Total Body WALX for you to enjoy in a social atmosphere, during the walk providing if the weather is fine, we will stop for a 20 minute session of Chi Ball - a mixture of Tai Chi and Yoga from the seasons sequence. A small ball is used but imagination is fine for the session.
Details can be given if you would like to purchase a ball, for more details on the full chi ball virtual class please see the booking system.
You can book this session without the Power of Poles training, join us walking with no poles or borrow a set from us and feel the ‘Power of Poles’.

Come, spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning exploring interesting circular walks, up hill and down dale, in the Chilterns and South Bucks areas. With a wide variety of venues and terrain to chose from you are sure to discover a few favourites. The walk will change each week, and where practical will finish somewhere with refreshments and facilities.

Lead by accredited instructors or leaders, these walks make the most of our beautiful countryside and are a relaxing way to enjoy being active outdoors, at the same time as improving your fitness and wellbeing.
We aim for a steady pace rather than a race. We'll aim for each walk to be about 2 hours duration.

Marple - Rose Hill Nordic Walks
Come along and join us on a friendly Nordic Walk starting at The Railway Pub near Rose Hill Station Marple, there are different circular routes around the area, using a mixture of streets, canals, parks, woodland, riverside paths, and bridlepaths.
Before we set off on our walk there`s a short warm-up.
Engage in sociable group walks that not only enhance your physical well-being but also boost your mental health through outdoor exercise. After the walk there is a short stretch too. The walk includes a short mobilisation of joints prior to walking and a cool down stretch at the end.
The walks are advertised at 90mins but they may take a little longer than that, due to terrain, and other factors.
After the walk there`s some cool down stretches and the option of drinks etc at the Railway
Gears 1 and maybe 2 with some hills.
Distance approx 5-6km (3-4 miles)

The Saturday Strider is led this week by NWUK Walk Leader Sue Kelly and is an easy/moderate pace 2-3 mile, 1 hour walk. Get some great Nordic Walking exercise, fresh air and chat! They are great walks to attend to build your fitness especially if you`d like to progress onto the faster paced or longer walks.
Meeting point - We meet outside the cafe at the Visitor Centre Car Park. (Sat Nav: M27 6NG). Plenty of free parking. A great way to start the week is with an Active Mondays walk in and around Stanmore. Get ready for the weekend with a stimulating Saturday morning walk around Stanmore Country park. Or join us on a Sunday morning for a longer, faster paced walk in Ruislip Woods.These are intermediate walks, lasting one hour and will include some hill work. For those new to the area you`ll be surprised at the fantastic views over London that you get from Wood Farm Viewpoint, the hidden lakes in PearsWood and Bentley Priory and the seemigly endless trails through woods which change with the seasons.
Walkabout Wednesdays give the opportunity to travel a little further into neighbouring boroughs, or out along the Metropolitan line into the Chess Valley. Saturdays we`re always in the Stanmore Country Park, but we never tire of it as there are such a variety of trails to explore.

WALX sessions need to be experienced and not simply described so our WAlx Factor lessons give you the chancee to see for yourself just how powerful walking based exercise can be when its at the right level for you.
Come along and give WALX a go - Your qualified instructor will guide you through how to get the MOST out of every step you take. Great for beginners and experienced WALXers alike.
We will be walking on both grass and paths so make sure you’re wearing supportive walking boots or shoes/trainers with a good tread that you are happy to get dirty and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Paws will be required (on and off on different terrains). Hats, sunscreen and insect repellent will also be required when the weather dictate.

The POWER of POLES (POP) Induction is totally unique in that it explores the use of both strapless and strapped Nordic walking poles to help you gain the best techniques and results! This course is ideally taught over 1.5 hours.
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn the basics and then go on to join a regular walking group where you will gain further tuition and consolidate the techniques you have learned in the POP course.
I ask that you come dressed for the weather and wear a face mask for the introduction, but the mask is optional for the rest of the course as we will be outside.
