Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing.

10.30am start time. Led by NWUK Instructor Susan Spain, the 'Monday Blaster Workout Walk' is a 1 hour moderate to faster pace Workout Walk starting from different locations in the South Manchester area. These energising sessions will help you rebuild your stamina and fitness levels, push that pace without compromising on technique plus work on strength and core fitness. For those who have completed a Power of the Poles or Learn to Nordic walk course and have their Freedom code.  Incorporates motivating drills and exercises using Gears 1, 2 and .... maybe some Gear 3. This is a delightful and scenic walk through Thorncombe Woods and Puddletown Forest with a slight difference, we will be working on your Hill stamina. This is for everyone who is looking to improve their Hill work that includes everyone who is looking to start doing longer walks and feels unable to do so due to hills. Everything will be taken at your own level not at the person next to you.

Suitable for all abilites with or without poles.

There is a wealth of wildlife – including resident Dartmoor ponies- and a varied range of mature trees and open scrubland from which, high up, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside with the Purbeck Hill’s in the distance. A walk not to be missed!

We will meet in car park, there is a charge of £2 to use the car park.

Throughout the walk we will be observing the social distancing as best as possible at all times.

ONLINE CLASSES

For online classes you must ensure that you have a clear area to train (Approx 2m Square).

You must dress appropriately for the session.

You must ensure that your emergency contact details are up to date in your profile. 

You will need a mat for floor exercises, a tea towel for strength exercises and a place where you can do press ups such as a kitchen work surface.  If you have access to a fitness band that would be useful too.

If the class is billed as a Gymstick/Pro X Walker/Isobow owners class you MUST have these items.
