Walk Description:

Power of Poles is a friendly, informal session where we introduce you to the technique of walking with Total Body Walking poles and show you how to get the most from them.

Using poles with the correct technique can turn an ordinary walk into a full-body activity. You’ll learn how to use your upper body effectively, improve your walking posture and develop a more efficient stride.

The benefits can include:

• Walking faster without necessarily feeling that you are working harder• Making hills feel easier and giving you extra power on climbs• Engaging more of your upper body muscles as you walk• Improving posture and walking technique• Increasing cardiovascular fitness• Helping to develop strength and endurance• Supporting balance and stability• Burning more energy than ordinary walking• Taking some of the load away from the lower body

You don’t need any previous experience and poles will be provided for the session.

It’s relaxed, friendly and a great opportunity to discover just how much difference using poles correctly can make to your walking.
