Adventure Walk: Janneke's special walk

Date: Thursday 9th October

Meet at 10 for a 10.15am start at the Old Dog car park, DE6 2AT

Distance: 3 miles, 1.5 hours

The walk: Footpaths, farm tracks and quiet lanes without pavement. Some areas prone to mud and uneven walking.

This walk is on the Tissington Trail and through fields, so be prepared for a few gates and stiles on the walk.

After the walk we will have refreshments in the pub and there will be a handover from White Peak Nordic Walking to Walx White Peak.

Please bring water, also waterproofs & layers.

From one hour WALX in your local country park to a half day in the hills.

 

This walk starts at the small car park in Common Lane North.  

We take in Beccles Common with its wooded areas and grasslands.  Although it is largely flat, it’s a good place to practice going up and down hills as there are a couple of spots we can stop to practice depending on the group.  Walking drills make this suitable for all abilities and is flat with a mixture of grass and firmer paths. 

For those who fancy a cuppa, we will walk to the nearby H&J cafe.

Following the ‘Power of Poles intro course’, this walk provides you with an opportunity to increase your speed, while maintaining the proper technique.  

An evening walk is the perfect way to end a busy working day, as it is an outdoors workout, which provides an opportunity to improve health and fitness.It allows you to work your muscles that you do not use much during the day.

This can help in relieving stiffness and lower back pain and in relaxing your body and mind.

All this makes you sleep better as you will feel relaxed and free of any stress or tension.
