Join Sally to explore the amazing Wareham Forest - miles of tracks and trails with surprising viewpoints and a mix of terrain from heathland heather to unique bogs (we won't walk in that!)  Stunning trees, full of birdsong and plenty of deer and other wildlife too. Join us for a 7 mile walk which is peaceful and tranqui. This circular walk takes in the beauty of Lancashire which is close to home.

The route quickly has us away from the village of Adlington and into the countryside of open farmland, paths and tracks with views of Winter Hill and Rivington.

A 2k to 3k gentle WALX that incorporates balance work, flexibility and strength exercises and maybe a bit of yoga or relaxation too. On Monday these walks take place around Stanmore and Harrow Weald on mainly flat terrain but we do go on trails through the woods so that we can enjoy the changes in nature throughout the year. This is a very friendly group and we are always ready to welcome new walkers who want to get back into exercise in a safe and gradual way.

Starting in April 2025 there is also the option to sign up for the 6 week Total Body Walking Programme in the beautiful Canons Park in Stanmore which is being supported by TfL and Friends of Canons Park. This programme runs on Tuesdays and Sundays at 11am.

This one hour walk will follow part of the Nar Valley Way and enable us to enjoy some of the great countryside views.  We will then loop back towards the village and end our walk by following some of the lokes before reaching the Castle.  It will be at a reasonable pace with the chance build your fitness.

It could be a set of weights or dumb-bells or, alternatively, you could use washing softener bottles or plastic milk bottles filled with water. This is a 90 minutes walk on footpaths through fields and over stiles around Denstone. Come and enjoy this early morning walk to get an active start at the beginning of your week.
