Join us for a 7 mile walk which is peaceful and tranqui. This circular walk takes in the beauty of Lancashire which is close to home.
The route quickly has us away from the village of Adlington and into the countryside of open farmland, paths and tracks with views of Winter Hill and Rivington.
We will walk to Limbrick and head tpwards Angelzarke and Upper Rivington Reservoirs. There we can stop at Rivington Bowling green for refreshments.

A 2k to 3k gentle WALX that incorporates balance work, flexibility and strength exercises and maybe a bit of yoga or relaxation too. On Monday these walks take place around Stanmore and Harrow Weald on mainly flat terrain but we do go on trails through the woods so that we can enjoy the changes in nature throughout the year. This is a very friendly group and we are always ready to welcome new walkers who want to get back into exercise in a safe and gradual way.
Starting in April 2025 there is also the option to sign up for the 6 week Total Body Walking Programme in the beautiful Canons Park in Stanmore which is being supported by TfL and Friends of Canons Park. This programme runs on Tuesdays and Sundays at 11am.

This one hour walk will follow part of the Nar Valley Way and enable us to enjoy some of the great countryside views. We will then loop back towards the village and end our walk by following some of the lokes before reaching the Castle. It will be at a reasonable pace with the chance build your fitness.
This Explorer WALX session is open to walkers who do not wish, or are not able, to use poles. This session is suited to those who are looking to improve their fitness and can walk at a minimum pace of 3 mph.

These walks are a great opportunity to exercise and meet and chat to other walkers. They are of moderate pace with the opportunity should you wish to push yourself a little further. You will walk with a qualified walk leader or master. These walks start at different locations to give you the enjoyment of walking in the surrounding countryside of your local area.
These walks are often lead by qualified walk leaders and can be from an hour to 3 hours long. It is a moderate paced walk with a few stops. An hours social walk naturally tends to be at a quicker pace than the 90+ minutes.

For the Home Weights workout with Denise, all you need is something you can hold in your hands to use as an added resistance. It could be a set of weights or dumb-bells or, alternatively, you could use washing softener bottles or plastic milk bottles filled with water. You could use wet towels in a plastic bag or bags of potatoes (anything you can hold in each hand). The "WALX HQ Presents ..." sessions are delivered online from WALX & Nordic Walking UK head office, helping you stay active and mobile from home. All sessions are FREE for those on a monthly payment package with their local instructor.

This is a 90 minutes walk on footpaths through fields and over stiles around Denstone. Come and enjoy this early morning walk to get an active start at the beginning of your week.
Using gears 2 and sometimes 3, working through the gears for progression and endurance. Walking 3 - 4 miles
Don't forget to wear suitable clothing for all weathers
This is for members with a Nordic Walking UK FREEDOM passport.
Denstone farm shop is open for (take away) coffee/lunch. Toilets available.

This is a delightful and gentle scenic walk through Thorncombe Woods.
Suitable for all abilites with or without poles.
There is a wealth of wildlife – including resident Dartmoor ponies- and a varied range of mature trees and open scrubland from which, high up, there are magnificent views of the surrounding countryside with the Purbeck Hill’s in the distance. A walk not to be missed!
We will meet in car park, there is a charge of £1 per hour, to use the car park.
Throughout the walk we will be observing the social distancing as best as possible at all times.

This is a friendly and popular Nordic walking Group for those who have completed a Power of Poles induction course. We explore the forest trails in Delamere Forest and coverig 4-5km (2.5 - 3 miles) in the hour.

This is a Gear 2 walk of less than 4 miles. There are a couple of different options according to the ground conditions. Although a shortish walk, there are some steep ramps to improve your cardio fitness. The walk varies between grass on lovely old turf and hard tracks. This walk compliments the other weekly Gear 2 walks, which are longer but have gentler inclines, both designed to help you improve your personal fitness.
Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.
